Audi LMP1

The legendary 24-hour race at Le Mans in mid-June 2012, will compete four Audi LMP1. Two of them, for the first time will be equipped with hybrid drive.

Audi Sport Team Joest entered two cars for the new professions FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The German manufacturer also plans to issue additional cars in some races, such as 12-hour Sebring (USA) and 6-hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), which for the Audi team will also dress rehearsal for Le Mans.

In 80th French edition of the classic long-distance, Audi starts with the numbers "1" and "2" (hybrid) and "3" and "4". Under the law, each car is now one driver. This driver Andre Lotterer, Allan McNish, Timo Bernhard and Oliver Jarvis.

The new Audi sports prototype with a hybrid drive will be presented in late February. First start provided May 5, at 6-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps.

In the race the World Cup season opener, March 17 at Sebring, Audi Sport Team Joest will start again in the Audi R18 TDI, which were winners of Le Mans in 2011. Audi prevailed 24 Hours of Le Mans in a total of ten times since 2000, making it the most successful brand in the modern history of the race.
